
DEAMS II v3.5.0 Upgrade Procedure
Before installing the new patch please download and read through the Release
Notes

It is important that you read through these as there are significant changes
to the software.
The below instructions are based on Windows XP operating system,
the process may differ slightly if using Windows 2000 or Windows Vista.
If you are not upgrading from Deams II v3 and installing for the first time then please follow just step 4.
You must follow these steps in order
to keep your existing Deams username and password!
- Backup your existing Deams database (System Admin -> Backup)
- In order to keep your existing usernames and passwords you need to backup
the existing security file. To do this follow the below instructions:
- Double click to open 'My Computer'
- Double click to open 'Local Disk (C:\)'
- Double click to open 'Program Files'
- Double click to open 'Henley Software Ltd'
- Double click to open 'Deams II v3'
- Right click on the file called 'DEAMSCORE.mdw' (you might not see the
file extension .mdw) and select Rename
- Rename the file to 'DEAMSCORE1' or 'DEAMSCORE1.mdw' depending on if
you see the mdw extension.
- Uninstall Deams II v3. To do this follow below instructions:
- Click 'Start'
- Click 'Control Panel'
- Double click to open 'Add/Remove Programs'
- Find Deams II v3 in the list and click Remove
- Follow the on screen instructions to uninstall.
- Install Deams II v.3.5
- Download setup files from Deams
II v3.5 Installer (Save install set to your computer rather than just
opening)
- Once downloaded double click to open file.
- Double click Setup.exe to start installation.
- If prompted to install .Net Framework 2.0 or Crystal Report for .Net
Framework 2.0 click Yes
- Follow on screen instructions until installation is complete
- Replacing the DEAMSCORE.mdw to maintain the usernames
- Double click to open 'My Computer'
- Double click to open 'Local Disk (C:\)'
- Double click to open 'Program Files'
- Double click to open 'Henley Software Ltd'
- Double click to open 'Deams II v3'
- Right click on the file called 'DEAMSCORE.mdw' (you might not see the
file extension .mdw) and select Delete
- Rename the file 'DEAMSCORE1' or 'DEAMSCORE1.mdw' depending on if you
can see the mdw extension to 'DEAMSCORE' or 'DEAMSCORE.mdw'.

You can now run Deams and log in using your usual username and password.
Note: If you are using a multi-user database (where deams_static.mdb
and DEAMSCORE.mdw) are centrally stored in the same network location) you do
not need to follow processes 2 and 5. But you will need to download and update
the static data (deams_static.mdb).
