Combining Voice and Data
Traditionally, voice transmissions are generally analogue and data transmissions are digital. In the past, in order to transmit data between sites, it was necessary to use modem technology to transmit data over analogue lines - a slow and costly experience.
Now, with the widespread availability of ISDN (integrated Services Digital Network) and ADSL (Asynchronous Digital Subscriber Line), both voice and data can make use of high speed connections, on demand, between locations. Not only does this save money by reducing call costs, but, due to the nature of ISDN and ADSL, fewer physical lines are needed, meaning reduced rental costs too.

The Alchemy Series has removed the barrier between voice PBX and data LAN by combining the functionality of both systems, with many more features, into a single, modular system - Argent.
With Argent, the computer and the telephone become two seamless business tools with the ability to communicate and make use of their combined facilities. The system is entirely modular for both voice and data communications. It is also future proof and expandable, allowing growth from 8 to 100 voice and data ports.
Connectivity to Argent is extremely versatile, with integrated LAN, telephone, ISDN, leased line and modem connections. Other modules expand these integrated network facilities to cover all aspects of the Internet Office of the future.
For smaller installations, remote access sites or even home offices, the CyberGear range takes full advantage of high speed ISDN access for both voice and data.
